Wayfinder is a web-based generative art game that takes the player on a contemplative cause-and-effect journey through nature. Combining artificial intelligence, machine learning and generative processes, each experience is as unique and ephemeral as nature itself. Players move a mystical character through the landscape in search of poetic tokens which, when activated, reveal words hidden in the wind. The poems and visuals players see today will never appear in the exact same way ever again.

One of gaming's rare live-service reversals: launched as always-online F2P Early Access on Aug 15, 2023 (published by Digital Extremes, founder's packs), but DE shut its publishing arm in Nov 2023 and returned the IP to Airship. The game was delisted, stripped of microtransactions and the online requirement, relaunched buy-to-play as 'Wayfinder: Echoes' (June 11, 2024) and hit 1.0 on Oct 21, 2024 self-published, with a Critical Role supporter bundle. Founder's-pack holders were pointed to platform refunds after exclusivity promises were nullified. Airship cut its team to ~50 in Aug 2025; mod support (Mod.io) entered beta Sept 2025 and the game remains live but sales-dependent. No sales figures published.
