No development budget or copies-sold figure has ever been disclosed - documented-empty after checking Wikipedia, Game Developer, Gamereactor and the studio's own site. What IS known: the team self-funded Trailmakers using leftover proceeds from Microsoft's purchase of their previous studio Press Play, and Flashbulb self-publishes with no publisher deal. Nordisk Games (Egmont) first took a 43% stake for DKK 16.5 million (~$2.5M) and then acquired the studio outright, announced 29 November 2021. The 5-million figure is PLAYERS, not sales, and the game has been on Xbox Game Pass - so no estimated gross is derived here, because a player count that includes subscription access cannot be multiplied by a price without materially overstating revenue. Steam MSRP is $24.99.
