Launched at $19.99/$29.99 with a 10-day free 'Block Party' trial (May 21-30, 2021) that drove the 5M spike; also on Xbox Game Pass and EA Play. Went fully free-to-play with Season 6 (June 1, 2022) as Velan took over publishing from EA. Servers closed June 6, 2023 — Velan cited a 'dramatic' drop in retention and monetization by Aug 2022 (worsened by global inflation hitting F2P spending) and said the needed systemic changes were 'virtually impossible' for a small indie on a live game. A free offline Private Hosted Server Edition for PC keeps it playable.
